The reality

When the network goes down, the business goes down.

We hear this from every IT Director who switches to a managed NOC. Three problems, all solvable, and all costing engineering time and revenue you’d rather spend on growth.

Network outages cost £1000s per minute.

Multi-vendor estates, after-hours incidents, finger-pointing between ISP, MSP and your team. Every minute of downtime drains revenue, trust and team morale.

rapid median P1 response, 99.99% uptime SLA.

Multi-vendor estate is hard to monitor.

Cisco, Aruba, Fortinet, Meraki, each with their own dashboard, alerts and licensing model. Your team spends more time correlating events than fixing problems.

Single-pane visibility across every vendor.

After-hours incidents wake your team.

Pager rotations burn out senior engineers. By the time the on-call is awake, the SLA clock is already red, customer impact is already spreading, and Slack is on fire.

UK-shifted 24/7 NOC. Your sleep. We watch.

What you get

Four outcomes, one accountable NOC team.

Not a long list of features: four operational outcomes that show up in your business continuity metrics and your CTO’s incident-free weekends. Every one of them runs from a UK Network Operations Centre.

Median rapid P1 response

rapid P1

UK NOC engineers triage every alert in real time. Major incidents have an engineer on the bridge in under 8 minutes, with defined escalation paths.

99.99% network uptime

99.99% up

Proactive monitoring, predictive analytics, automated failover. Documented runbooks for every failure mode we’ve seen since 2018.

ITIL-aligned change management

ITIL v4

Every change CAB-reviewed, scheduled, tested and rolled back ready. Audit trails on demand for ISO 27001 and ICO reporting.

Single-pane visibility

1 pane

Unified dashboard across Cisco, Aruba, Fortinet, Meraki, SD-WAN and ISP links. One source of truth for incident triage and capacity planning.

How it works

Three phases from kickoff to fully-managed NOC.

Most NOC contracts start with a thin handover and end with finger-pointing. Ours start with a documented network audit, end with measurable uptime improvements, and run continuously in between.

01

Weeks 1 – 2

Discover

Network audit, vendor inventory, monitoring gap analysis. You leave with a documented risk register and a named senior network engineer assigned.

02

Weeks 3 – 4

Onboard

Deploy monitoring agents, integrate with your ITSM, document runbooks, train escalation paths. By week 4 your network has zero unknowns.

03

Week 5 onwards

Operate

Live 24/7 NOC under contracted XLA. Monthly capacity reviews, quarterly architecture refreshes. Fixed monthly fee, no per-ticket charges.

Why Transputec

Why our managed NOC doesn’t behave like a typical reseller.

Most NOC providers resell vendor monitoring tools with a thin support layer. We’ve spent 38 years engineering network operations as a discipline, and it shows up in the four things our clients tell us they buy us for.

01 · UK 24/7 NOC

London NOC, UK-shifted engineers.

Real UK engineers on every shift, not a follow-the-sun queue overseas. Median rapid P1 response, measured.

02 · Vendor-agnostic

Cisco, Aruba, Fortinet, Meraki, all under one roof.

One NOC team that knows every vendor your business runs. No swivel-chair handoff. Single accountable owner per network segment.

03 · ITIL change discipline

CAB-reviewed change, every time.

Every network change goes through documented CAB approval, scheduled testing and rollback prep. No cowboy late-night fixes.

04 · Fixed XLA contracts

Measured on outcomes, not tickets.

XLAs measure user experience: how fast services recover, how often capacity hits limits. Not just whether we answered the phone.

Frequently asked

Answers to what UK IT leaders ask us most.

A managed Network Operations Centre is an outsourced team that monitors, manages and secures your network estate 24/7: SD-WAN, LAN/WAN, wireless, firewalls, ISP links and cloud connectivity. Transputec runs a UK-based NOC under ISO 27001 controls, aligned with the ITIL 4 framework. UK-shifted engineers on every shift, median rapid P1 response, monthly capacity reporting as standard. For the wider operational view, read our blog on key strategies of IT infrastructure management.

We are vendor-agnostic: Cisco (Catalyst, Meraki, Nexus), Aruba (CX, Instant, ClearPass), Fortinet (FortiGate, FortiSwitch, FortiAP), Juniper, Palo Alto, Mikrotik, Ubiquiti and major SD-WAN platforms (Versa, Silver Peak, Cisco Viptela, FortiSD-WAN). Whatever sits in your rack, our NOC engineers know it. See a real-client deployment in our SD-WAN installation case study for Grand City Properties.

UK NOC pricing is typically per-device-per-month with bands by complexity. Standard managed switching / wireless starts around £12-25 per port per month. Firewall management (FortiGate / Palo Alto) sits at £180-450 per device per month for 24/7 cover with rule reviews. SD-WAN management is normally per-site. Multi-site estates of 5-50 sites land between £3K and £28K per month, fully managed. We publish a costed sizing in the SoW before contract signature. For the cost framing behind a managed-network approach, read how much IT downtime really costs your business.

An SLA measures whether you delivered the service on contracted timings: phone-answer time, ticket-acknowledgement, fix-by deadline. An XLA (eXperience-Level Agreement) measures the experience the user got: time-to-recovery, repeat-incident rate, capacity-headroom comfort, CSAT. Our managed NOC contracts use XLAs as primary KPIs, with SLAs as supporting metrics, because business continuity depends on outcomes, not ticket timestamps. Read our deeper take on what XLAs are and why they beat SLAs for modern IT.

Yes. Our managed NOC integrates tightly with our Managed Cyber Security Services, sharing a single incident response process. Firewall rule reviews, IDS/IPS tuning, VPN management and zero-trust enforcement are all included in our network management scope. For a wireless example, see our wireless LAN upgrade for the Higgins Group. Explore the full Managed IT Services pillar for the wider operations capability.

Yes. We run a parallel-monitoring cutover where both your current provider and our NOC observe the estate for two weeks, then we switch ownership without a maintenance window. Devices, configurations and policies stay in place; only the monitoring backend, ticketing and on-call rota move. Exit assistance from your current provider is something we negotiate alongside you, we have done it more than 50 times. See our wider managed IT services for context.
