IT Project Management as a service is an outsourced engagement where a senior UK-based project manager (or PM team) is accountable for delivering a defined IT project to scope, cost and date, under your governance, reporting weekly into your SteerCo. It differs from a permanent hire because the cost is fixed per project, the PM brings methodology and tooling, and they hand back the system at go-live without long-term staff overhead. Infrastructure migrations and regulated-industry projects often need PRINCE2 with milestone-based gates. Public-sector and waterfall-heavy estates run hybrid. UK IT Project Management pricing is typically per-PM-per-month, with bands by seniority + scope complexity. Single PM for a focused workstream (3-6 months, 1 PM): £9.5K-14.5K per month. Programme PM with workstream leads (6-18 months, 1 senior PM + 2-3 workstream PMs): £28K-68K per month. Multi-programme PMO at enterprise scale: bespoke quote. Documented change-of-scope process from sprint one. Any new requirement (from any stakeholder, including the CEO) goes through the process: scope, impact, cost, date, decision. Approved changes get added to the plan; non-approved changes go to the V2 backlog. The CFO sees every change-of-scope decision in the weekly SteerCo report, with cumulative impact on cost-to-complete and time-to-go-live. 30-day post-go-live stabilisation period is included in every fixed-quote project. We monitor the system in production, triage any P1 / P2 incidents, and document the runbook for your team. From day 31 you have three options: take full ownership with the documented hand-back, retain the PM on a part-time governance capacity, or move into a longer programme with the next wave of workstreams.
