Transputec's Sharon Campbell makes the shortlist in the CRN Women in Channel Awards

We are delighted to announce that Sharon Campbell, Head of PMO, has been nominated as Role Model of the Year in the CRN Women in Channel Awards, which recognises female role models that will inspire the next generation.

Building on the success of last year’s inaugural awards, CRN’s Women in Channel campaign highlights the channel leaders and companies taking the initiative to make our industry more representative of society at large

Sharon has over 20 years’ experience working in varied roles across the business. She initially joined Transputec in 1996 as a HR Manager before moving to the Technical department and into the roles of Support Manager and then Technical Manager. In 2016, Sharon was awarded the role of PMO Manager, delivering a high level of scrutiny and audit of the project management function alongside quality delivery of projects to our customers.

Sharon has also been instrumental in maintaining Transputec’s accreditations. In 2000, she implemented ISO Quality standards through ISO 9001 certification. In 2017, as part of the ISO team, she also successfully achieved ISO 27001 certification and as part of the EMS team, successfully achieved ISO 14001 certification for the business in 2019.

From managing the relocation of Transputec, implementation of SharePoint across the organisation, maintaining our accreditations with vendors to implementing best of breed ITSM tools, Sharon’s expert knowledge, drive, and experience has been invaluable. She is already a role model to us all within the business.

Sharon commented: “Being nominated for Women in Channel Awards was unexpected. There are many women working around me that I have huge respect and admiration for. I see my success as part of a collaborative effort, so to be singled out for the nomination is very gratifying. Most women I know don’t do the drumroll for themselves, so the Women in Channel Awards is a great message to all of us to recognise the talent amongst us.”

Diversity and inclusion in the IT sector has received much needed attention over recent years. At Transputec, we pride ourselves on our diverse teams and are committed to increasing the number of women represented across the business and supporting the next generation of tech talent via our apprentice, academy and mentor schemes.

The winners will be announced on Thursday 17 October and attended by key women in our business alongside our Chairman, Rickie Sehgal who has also been nominated as Executive Mentor of the Year.

We wish Sharon and Rickie the very best of luck!
