In March Transputec launched their Sports Relief appeal. Employees from across the company dressed up in sportswear and including an employee who spent the whole day in rollerblades to raise money for Sports Relief.
As part of the fundraising activities, Transputec organised a space hopper race where teams of two raced their way around the offices. The final race was raced between Dean Roodt, Account Manager and Steve Curteis, Vice Sales Director at Transputec. Despite a very close finish, Dean was crowned the champion of space hopping. Speaking after the race Dean, the winner said: "The day's events have been great - I had loads of fun and I won the Space Hopper Race. The atmosphere was great and everyone taking part made it even better by dressing up for the occasion."
Overall, the company raised £ 200 for Sports relief. Commenting on the day's events Rickie Sehgal, Chairman of Transputec Ltd said: "I am so proud of all the people at Transputec for their generosity and the commitment to charitable causes. Sport Relief makes a real difference to the lives of some of the poorest people in the world. They provide a fun way for ordinary people who just want to help others less privileged. This year, our first year, we raced 200 pounds with a lot of positive feedback. Next year we plan to have more people engaged and hope to raise much more money."
