"The great advantage of Transputec's proposal was that it would immediately simplify storage procurement and maintenance," comments Irek Zielinski. "Instead of multiple vendors with different technologies and maintenance contracts, we would have one company - IBM - supplying all the hardware and software, and one company helping us with implementation and support.
